Wondrous Strange and Darklight by Lesley Livingston

These two fun novels are the first two in a trilogy written by a Canadian writer.

Yes, they are yet another addition to the fantasy novel infestation that has
proliferated since the Twilight outbreak.

In this case, the protagonist, Kelly Winslow, unbeknownst to her, is actually a fairy who is also an actress in New York. Once she discovers her true nature, she keeps getting dragged through a portal in Central Park into the world of fairies with all its conflict and petty politics.

Lesley Livingston cleverly weaves together the worlds of fairies, modern New York and Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream and Romeo and Juliet.
